Job Title: Senior Accountant
About the Role:
We are looking for a technically strong Accountant to take ownership of general ledger accounting, intercompany transactions, and multi-entity consolidation for a US-based construction business. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience, including senior-level responsibility for the month-end close, together with hands-on Sage Intacct expertise. This role also plays a key part in the migration from QuickBooks Online (QBO) to Sage Intacct and in strengthening accounting processes as the business scales.
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger & Month-End Close
- Own and execute the month-end close checklist, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and account reconciliations.
- Maintain the chart of accounts, dimensions, and job and cost code structures within Sage Intacct.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items on a timely basis.
- Review revenue recognition and work-in-progress (WIP) schedules for active construction contracts.
Intercompany & Consolidation
- Record, reconcile, and settle inte rcompany transactions, allocations, and balances across multiple entities.
- Ensure intercompany accounts are matched and eliminated accurately in every reporting period.
- Support multi-entity consolidation, including elimination entries and currency translation where applicable.
Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and management reporting packs.
- Coordinate with external auditors, preparing schedules and responding to audit queries.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies and controls.

Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; part-qualified or qualified ACCA, CPA, CA, or ICMA preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or general ledger role.
- Strong hands-on Sage Intacct experience, particularly the General Ledger, multi-entity, and consolidation modules.
Preferred Skills:
- Construction or contracting industry accounting experience, including job costing, WIP, percentage-of-completion, and retainage.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606 as applied to construction contracts.
- Demonstrated experience with multi-entity structures and intercompany eliminations.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with reporting tools such as Sage Intacct dashboards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement mindset.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for cross-border collaboration with US-based teams.
