Summary Statement:

The Public Relations Manager will assist with the overall development and execution of earned media strategies and campaigns for Resorts World Las Vegas. This role will field and coordinate media requests, coordinate and manage media activities, create and manage property press material and deploy creative PR tactics to secure impactful earned media coverage that builds brand awareness, showcases property amenities and supports revenue drivers.

Primary Job Duties: Includes, but is not limited to:

- Works with PR Director and agency on the development and execution of all earned media strategies and campaigns.
- Work directly with journalists to secure meaningful, high impact earned media placements in alignment with brand standards, initiatives and goals.
- Field, coordinate and staff media events and activities, including but not limited to, photo shoots, filming, media dinners, red carpets, interviews, etc.
- Assist PR Director with development of comprehensive PR plans and campaigns in support of property offerings and company, property and departmental goals.
- Work with PR agency to develop property press material, pitches and plans; assist with managing agency workflow to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Work with external and third-party partners, PR representatives and firms, etc., to execute earned media opportunities in alignment with brand standards.
- Actively participate in cross-departmental meetings, brainstorms and working sessions.
- Collaborate with internal partners, including but not limited to Hotel Operations, Food & Beverage, Retail, Nightlife, Human Resources, Entertainment, Casino Marketing, etc.
- Distribute press clips and coverage reports for property initiatives to executives, internal and external partners and other stakeholders.
- Write, edit, distribute and maintain property press materials, including press releases, media alerts and listings, fact sheets, biographies, etc.
- Develop and deploy proactive pitches of property amenities and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain robust media contact lists.
- Draft message points for internal departments and executives as needed.
- Assist with media training of property spokespeople and key executives.
- Identify and introduce creative new earned media opportunities.
- Assist with the creation, implementation and education of internal Public Relations processes.
- Assist with brand reputation management efforts through crisis communications and public affairs efforts as needed.
- Write, edit and maintain relevant material for Marketing & Advertising department; collaborate with and provide copywriting support for brand marketing, digital and social functions as needed.
- Train and mentor PR and Marketing interns, coordinators and/or specialists.
- Use personal device/cellular phone for job related operational tasks, job duties, review of company documents, etc.
- Ensure that required licensing is maintained & updated.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or in a similar or related field.
- At least three years of Public Relations experience in hospitality or a related field.
- Extensive knowledge of media landscape with proven ability to create and foster strong relationships with local, regional and national press contacts.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Professional, and internet browser software.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel as required.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English.
- Able/willing to work a flexible schedule including more than 40 hours per week, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Proven track record securing high impact earned media placements.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of management, partners and guests.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, uphold positive attitude and effectively deliver and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and highly collaborative “think on your feet” team environment.
- Basic understanding of brand marketing, digital and social media functions.
- Ability to successfully supervise and mentor a team.

- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent leadership skills that demonstrates adaptability, flexibility and team orientation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
- At least 21 years of age.

Preferred :

- Previous experience working in a large, luxury resort setting.
