Role Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Pension Administrator to support the delivery of UK Pension Administration services, with a strong focus on Defined Benefit (DB) pension calculations, member events, data validation, and client servicing. This role is primarily focused on pension administration operations; however, individuals pursuing or possessing actuarial qualifications will have the opportunity to leverage their analytical and mathematical capabilities while building expertise in pensions administration.
The successful candidate will contribute to delivering high-quality outcomes for clients and pension scheme members, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Aptia standards while continuously developing technical and operational expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform pension administration activities across a range of member events, including retirements, transfers, deaths, and deferred benefits.
- Complete pension calculations and data reviews accurately using both automated and manual processes.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of pension schemes, governing legislation, and administration processes.
- Support delivery of client and member requests within agreed service levels and quality standards.
- Review and validate pension data, identifying discrepancies and escalating issues where required.
- Utilize analytical skills to investigate complex cases, interpret pension benefits, and support calculation reviews.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and contribute ideas to enhance operational efficiency.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, reports, and audit trails.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of client projects and operational objectives.
- Build expertise to independently manage increasingly complex pension administration tasks and calculations.
Required Experience & Technical Knowledge:
Must Have
- Graduate in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong numerical aptitude and analytical mindset.
- Good command of MS Office applications, especially MS Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when working with large data sets and calculations.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within agreed timelines.
Preferred
- Knowledge of UK Pensions, Defined Benefit (DB), Defined Contribution (DC), Superannuation, or Employee Benefits.
- Students pursuing Actuarial Science and having cleared 2 or more actuarial papers are highly preferred.
- Exposure to pension calculations, financial modelling, data analysis, or benefits administration.
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements within financial services or pensions.
