About this role

Description

We are looking for Operations Technicians to support colocation data centers. As an Operations Technician, you will have the opportunity to oversee the maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and safety equipment within the data center. You will support Amazon with your expertise and technical knowledge within colocation data centers.

Operations Technicians are also tasked with driving innovation and reducing operational costs at the facilities. They are the first point of contact for resolving electrical and mechanical issues that affect data center availability. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, standby diesel generators and related fuel systems, switchboards/switchgear, UPS, STS's, FPC's, PDUs, DAHUs, CRAHUs, CRACs, pumps, motors, VFDs, chillers, and building automation systems.

Basic Qualifications

- Knowledge of mechanical systems (Mechanical, HVAC systems, Controls)
- Knowledge of generic mechanical room infrastructure such as chillers, cooler units, and fan controls
- 1+ years of data center or mission critical facilities (example: hospital, military facility, public safety facility, etc.) experience
- Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience within mechanical or electrical area
- English A2

Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of safe electrical practices according to guidelines set by relevant electrical safety supervisory bodies (e.g., ECSSAI and RECI in Ireland)
- Experience leading and managing operations of critical facilities which require in-depth knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and control systems
- 1+ years of operations and on-call support for data center facilities, mission critical plants, or production facilities experience
