As a Thermal Mechanical Engineer, you will design, develop, and validate liquid cooling solutions for high-performance electronics, including passive cold plates, coolant distribution manifolds, and modular cooling system components. Working within our IT Cooling Design Engineering team, you will help bring innovative products from concept through production while solving challenging thermal and mechanical design problems.

What You Will Do

- Design and develop liquid cooling products and components for high-performance computing applications.
- Lead product development from concept through production, including prototyping, testing, validation, and manufacturing release.
- Create and maintain CAD models, engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
- Perform thermal, fluid flow, and structural analyses to optimize product performance and reliability.
- Conduct testing, analyze results, and investigate root causes to drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, testing, and customer-facing teams to solve engineering challenges.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations on performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Support the development of innovative cooling technologies for AI and next-generation data centers.

Position Details

- Location: Calgary, AB (Hybrid)
- Work From Home: Up to 50 days annually
- Schedule: Full-time, standard business hours
- Travel: Minimal travel as required
- Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to Calgary, AB or the surrounding area.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience designing mechanical components and assemblies for mass production using multiple manufacturing processes.
- Strong knowledge of: Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Tolerance stack-up and statistical tolerance analysis
- Mechanism design and analysis
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
- Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
- Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
- Engineering testing, validation, and root cause analysis

- Proficiency with CAD and simulation tools (such as SolidWorks) to create production-ready models and drawings and perform design analyses.

Preferred Qualifications

- 3+ years of thermal-mechanical product development experience.
- Knowledge of heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and cooling system design.
- Experience designing products for high-volume manufacturing.
- P.Eng. designation or eligibility.
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
