About this role
Mexico City · Full-time · Reports to the Global Head of Operations (Barcelona)
Relocation to Mexico City ✈️
This role is based in Mexico City. We welcome candidates from anywhere in Mexico who are excited to make the move to CDMX. The hub is here, the team is here, and proximity is the whole point of the position.
You'll travel regularly to Barcelona to stay close to the global teams, and across the region — LatAm and the US — as the work requires.
About Innovamat 🚀
Innovamat is an educational organization specialized in mathematics teaching. Founded in Barcelona in 2017, Innovamat provides schools with a comprehensive, evidence-based mathematics program spanning from Early Childhood Education through Secondary School, developed together with leading experts in mathematics didactics, cognition, and neuroscience.
The program integrates curriculum, teacher training, assessment, and intervention into a single coherent system. Present in 9 countries and serving more than 720,000 students, Innovamat is one of the few organizations in the sector with efficacy data independently validated by external research institutions. It is also the first non-U.S. organization to successfully complete the California State Board of Education's adoption process for a core mathematics curriculum.
About the Role and Why It’s Special ✨
Innovamat runs operations centrally. Supply chain, internal systems, revenue analytics and support engineering all live at headquarters in Barcelona, and they serve all nine countries. That's a deliberate choice: it's how we stay efficient and how a good practice invented in one market reaches the other eight.
But some things cannot be run from nine time zones away. Over the last few years we've placed people in Mexico as needs appeared — first a support specialist, then logistics, then post-sale operations, then legal. What started as a handful of individual hires is now a real operations hub serving all of LatAm and the United States. It has grown into a team that needs a single leader on the ground.
This role is that leader. Based in Mexico City and reporting directly to our Global Head of Operations in Barcelona, you will own operations across the Americas: lead the local team, act as the operational counterpart for the region's business leadership, and make sure the way we run things globally actually works in the markets furthest from headquarters.

The Team You'll Lead 👥
A multidisciplinary operations team based in Mexico City, serving LatAm and the United States:
- Customer Support — our in-house squad resolving technical and logistics incidents across the region
- Logistics — controlling last-mile delivery across every country in the region
- Operations Engineering — the systems and processes behind everything that happens after a school says yes: orders, invoicing, deliveries, licences and access
- Legal - managing contracts and local compliance across every country across LatAm and the US
- Finance Operations - running invoicing, payments and collections for the region, in the right time zone and aligned with local tax requirements
Each of them is functionally connected to a global discipline led from headquarters, and each works daily with country managers and regional leadership. You'll be the person who makes the whole thing work as one.
What You'll Own 🎯
Think of our operations as a matrix. The horizontal lines are global disciplines — production and purchasing, logistics, planning, operations engineering, revenue analytics, support — each led from Barcelona and each serving every market. The vertical lines are regions: Europe, Spanish LatAm, Brazil, the United States.
You own the American verticals. Your job is to make sure that the wheel those global disciplines turn actually turns well when you look at it from these regions. You don't need to build every solution yourself, but you need to see it and turn it into a clear request for the teams who can.
This means operating across the full customer and revenue lifecycle — from the moment a commercial opportunity is created, through implementation and delivery, to post-sale support. Your scope will therefore naturally intersect with Growth, Revenue Operations, Customer Success and Finance , as well as traditional operations.
Concretely, that means three things.
1. Lead the team, in person.
These are people with real weight in the company, and today they get their leadership over video calls at odd hours. You'll give them what distance can't: context, direction, growth, and someone who notices when something is off before they have to say it. Hallway conversations, difficult feedback, career paths, day-to-day unblocking.
2. Be the operational reference point for the region.
Country managers and regional leadership need a counterpart who understands operations end to end — supply chain, logistics, finance operations, support — and who can turn "we're going to need this" into something headquarters is already preparing.
This also means partnering closely with Growth, Revenue Operations and Customer Success. You'll need to understand where operational friction is slowing down revenue, creating unnecessary work for customer-facing teams, or impacting the customer experience — and then build or coordinate the systems and processes that solve it.
A live example: we're piloting new products in the US. Product has delivery deadlines, the material has to be produced, shipped and cleared into the US, and licences have to be provisioned. Someone has to sit with the regional lead, extract exactly what is needed and when, and then drive headquarters to make it happen on time. That's you.
We also expect the push to go the other way. When you need something from Barcelona, we expect you to come and get it.
3. Challenge us.
We design internal processes, tooling and calendars from Barcelona with a global hat on. We're certain that some of those decisions are wrong for Mexico or for the US, and we can't see it from here. You'll have the local context we lack, and we expect you to use it: to tell us when a process doesn't survive contact with reality on your side, and to push until it changes.
The same applies to our external partners. When a supplier or service provider in the region underperforms, you'll engage directly at the appropriate level, identify the root cause and drive the resolution. And where a partner selected from headquarters isn't the right fit for your market, we expect you to make the case for change and see it through.
Who We're Looking For 👤
We are looking for an exceptional operator with analytical horsepower.
This is not a role for someone who simply keeps processes running. We want someone who can look at a complex, fast-growing business, understand how the pieces connect, identify what is slowing the business down, and build the systems, processes and teams that allow it to scale.
Your background could come from Operations, Revenue Operations, Customer Success, Strategy & Operations, Management Consulting, or another highly analytical, customer-facing function . What matters most is that you have demonstrated the ability to take ownership of complex problems and turn them into measurable business outcomes.
The bar is high. We expect you to have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or another highly analytical field.
- 5+ years of experience in demanding, high-performance environments , ideally in a combination of operating and analytical roles. You have worked in environments where customer experience and revenue are deeply connected to operational excellence .
- We're particularly excited about profiles coming from management consulting, a high-growth scale-up or startup, technology, or another environment where the pace, standards and level of ownership are exceptionally high.
- A track record of operating in customer-facing or commercially connected environments — particularly where your work has directly influenced revenue, retention, customer experience, operational efficiency or growth.
- Exceptional problem-solving and structured-thinking skills . You can take an ambiguous problem, break it down, identify the highest-leverage intervention and drive it through to execution.
- The ability to move comfortably between strategy and execution — from discussing regional priorities with senior leadership to digging into the details of a broken process, customer issue or operational metric.
- Strong stakeholder management across cultures, seniority levels and time zones . You'll be the bridge between local teams, regional leadership and headquarters in Barcelona.
- High ownership and resilience. This role gets thrown at the deep end on purpose. We expect you to figure things out, move quickly and keep going when the answer isn't obvious.
- Fluent Spanish and English — both are used daily.
- Willingness to travel regularly across the region, including to the US and Barcelona.
- Comfort using AI tools to make yourself and your team faster, more analytical and more effective.
Nice to have: exposure to supply chain or physical distribution, familiarity with CRM and operational tooling (Salesforce and similar), experience with financial operations, and experience in EdTech or any business serving institutional customers.
