Join the Canterbury team as a Maintenance Engineer and play a key role in delivering quality outcomes across the Timaru District Council maintenance contract . This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role where you’ll help plan, coordinate and deliver projects and maintenance activities that keep the network safe, resilient and performing well for the community.
You’ll work closely with operational teams, subcontractors and stakeholders to turn plans into action. If you understand what good looks like on the ground and want a role where your judgement, experience and ideas count, this could be the right fit.
Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and deliver project and maintenance works across the Timaru district.
- Use RAMM to manage asset information, projects and work prioritisation, particularly in relation to dispatches and assets.
- Monitor contract requirements, budgets, quality and timeframes to help ensure strong delivery outcomes.
- Work alongside crews, subcontractors and council representatives to keep communication clear and work progressing.
- Champion a strong safety culture and ensure work is delivered to the required standards when it matters most.

- Proven experience in roading maintenance and project delivery.
- Working knowledge of RAMM , particularly with dispatches and asset management.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in civil engineering, or significant equivalent industry experience.
- Strong planning, coordination and stakeholder management skills, with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
- A collaborative and team-focused approach, with the ability to work effectively with crews, subcontractors and clients.
