About this role
•This internship provides an opportunity to work with Infineon’s System Application Engineering team on AI data center power electronics and semiconductor applications.
•The intern will support the team in developing technical collateral, analyzing CRM data, preparing expert BOMs, and building simulation models for power-conversion applications.
• The internship is based in Shenzhen and is planned from January to July 2027, with a commitment of approximately three days per week.
Your role Key responsibilities in your new role
- Technical Collateral: Support the creation and maintenance of application-level technical materials, including solution overviews, comparison tables, design references, and engineering documentation.
- Data Analysis: Support CRM data analysis to identify customer requirements, application trends, and opportunities for system-level technical support.
- Expert BOM Development: Support the generation and maintenance of expert BOMs by mapping system requirements and power-conversion functions to suitable semiconductor solutions.
- Power Electronics Simulation: Build and maintain simulation models for selected power-conversion topologies and reference designs using tools such as PLECS, MATLAB, and/or SIMetrix/SIMPLIS.
- Model Validation: Compare simulation results with bench-test results and support model validation together with application engineering teams.
- AI Data Center Power Applications: Support the modeling and analysis of power-conversion architectures used in AI data center power delivery systems, including AC/DC, DC/DC, intermediate bus, battery backup, and rack-level power architectures.
- Engineering Automation: Explore opportunities to improve engineering efficiency through data processing, scripting, modeling, calculation, and automation tools.
- Knowledge Management: Document models, assumptions, simulation methods, and results in a structured and reusable manner, enabling future engineers and interns to efficiently build upon previous work.
