Job Purpose:

To ensure the efficient maintenance, reliability, and optimal performance of factory equipment and facilities through proactive maintenance, fault finding, and adherence to safety, food quality, and operational standards.

Job Responsibilities:

- Supervise and support maintenance assistants and handymen.
- Perform preventative maintenance to minimise equipment downtime.
- Conduct electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify potential breakdown risks.
- Ensure maximum machinery uptime and operational efficiency.
- Execute and track planned maintenance activities.
- Complete job cards, work orders, and maintenance documentation accurately.
- Coordinate maintenance projects and improvement initiatives.
- Maintain and monitor utility services, including steam, air, electricity, and ammonia systems.
- Respond to breakdowns, standby duties, and after-hours call-outs as required.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and company policies.
- Adhere to GMP, food safety, and quality standards.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards and provide regular updates to the Maintenance Foreman on maintenance activities and issues

Experience and qualification:

- Must have a trade qualification, preferably Millwright.
- Senior Certificate.
- N6/in Mechanical and or/ Electrical Engineering.
- 5 Years ‘experience in FMCG manufacturing sector.
- Experience in PLC equipment, drives and automation

Skills and competencies:

- Refrigeration / Ammonia plant experience in FMCG production environment desirable.
- Electrical problem-solving experience.
- Must have production process experience.
- Prior knowledge of Scheduled, predictive and preventative maintenance.
- Good communication skills and a track record.
- Knowledge of FSSC 22000 principles.
- MS Office.
- Willing to work shifts, weekends and Public Holidays when required.
- Strong knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety.
- Professional, enthusiastic, hardworking, well-organized and able to prioritize.
- Able to work with others and willing to contribute to team.
