Job Title: Manufacturing Technician 3rd Shift (Assembly) Job Description
The Manufacturing Technician on 3rd shift works in a fast-paced production and cleanroom environment to assemble, fill, and process products that consistently exceed quality specifications. This role safely operates manual and automated filling equipment, handles temperature-sensitive materials, and follows strict GMP, ISO, and FDA standards. It is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in large-scale manufacturing, kit production, and regulated operations, with training provided for candidates who are early in their science or manufacturing careers.
Responsibilities
- Work within a manufacturing and cleanroom environment, both independently and as part of a team, to produce high-quality products that meet or exceed quality specifications.
- Communicate effectively with multiple work groups to coordinate tasks and ensure completion of daily production goals.
- Operate manual and automated filling equipment safely and in accordance with established procedures and work instructions.
- Safely operate pallet jacks to move materials and finished goods within the facility.
- Handle and process temperature-sensitive materials in strict accordance with established policies, procedures, and storage requirements.
- Adhere to all area-specific personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, including proper gowning and cleanroom protocols.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and comply with ISO and FDA regulations applicable to manufacturing operations.
- Complete all required training on time and maintain compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and documentation requirements.
- Accurately document production activities, material usage, and equipment operations as required for quality and regulatory purposes.
- Support quality control by following defined procedures, performing checks as instructed, and promptly reporting any deviations or issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper handling and disposal of chemicals, biological materials, and other substances.
- Meet production schedules and output targets while maintaining high standards of safety and product quality.
- Collaborate with team members and leadership to troubleshoot issues and improve processes where appropriate.
- Perform duties in cold storage environments when required, including handling materials stored at low temperatures.
- May serve as a work-order lead, coordinating tasks and guiding team members to complete specific production orders.
- Perform other related duties as required and/or assigned to support manufacturing operations.
Essential Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 02 years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or cleanroom environments.
- Ability to work MondayFriday, 3rd shift, from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM.
- Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to perform metric conversions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal procedures accurately.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members and documenting work.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and consistently meet deadlines.
- Capability to safely operate manual and automated filling equipment after training.
- Ability to safely operate pallet jacks for material movement.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with manufacturing work.
- Comfort working in cleanroom environments while wearing required PPE.
- Commitment to following GMP, safety rules, and all applicable policies and procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in GMP, ISO, or FDA-regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience operating automated manufacturing or fill/finish equipment.
- Experience using pipettes in a production or laboratory setting.
- Background or education in science, such as an associate or bachelors degree, is beneficial but not required.
- Familiarity with cleanroom operations and gowning procedures.
- Knowledge of quality control principles and production documentation practices.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team-based environment.
- Strong focus on safety compliance, PPE adherence, and SOP compliance.
- Interest in building a long-term career in manufacturing, biotechnology, or related scientific fields.
Work Environment
This position is based in a cleanroom and manufacturing setting on 3rd shift, Monday through Friday, from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM. You will work around automated and manual production equipment, pallet jacks, and various materials used in fill/finish and assembly operations. The role requires consistent use of personal protective equipment, which may include safety glasses, gloves, gowning, and lab coats, in accordance with area-specific requirements. You may work with chemicals, biological materials, and other hazardous substances while following strict safety and handling procedures. Some tasks occur in cold storage environments with temperatures as low as -22°F (-6°C), and you must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. The environment emphasizes teamwork, adherence to GMP, ISO, and FDA standards, and offers opportunities to gain experience in large-scale manufacturing and regulated production.

This is a Contract position based out of FREDERICK, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.30 - $25.30/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
