About this role

Job Title: Assistant Project Manager Job Description The Assistant Project Manager will support the administrative and technical execution of commercial and heavy-civil construction projects. This role involves close collaboration with the Vice President of the Civil Division, project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and safety personnel. Responsibilities

- Manage construction documents.
- Handle RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- Conduct contract administration and project scheduling.
- Track project costs and review bids.
- Support estimating and purchasing activities.
- Coordinate between field and office personnel.
- Facilitate project closeout processes.

Essential Skills

- 2+ years of directly relevant construction-management experience, including applicable internship or co-op experience.
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or an associate degree supported by 3+ years of construction knowledge.
- Experience in commercial, civil, heavy-highway, infrastructure, or design-build construction.
- Proficiency with Procore Scheduling software.
- Experience managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, project schedules, cost tracking, or construction document control.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Previous managerial and supervisory experience in the construction industry.
- Advanced knowledge of construction or project management software.
- A 4-year degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Entry-level knowledge of heavy-highway construction methods and materials, costing, scheduling, and estimating.
- Working knowledge of heavy-highway construction management, construction sequencing, and field conditions.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to foster a positive company image and maintain ethical standards.
- Strong, self-motivated team player with excellent attention to detail.
- Maintain confidentiality with all customer and company information.

Work Environment Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, totaling 45 hours per week. The role involves a mix of office work and occasional onsite meetings with superintendents and subcontractors. The work environment promotes safety, integrity, collaboration, respect, and innovation. Employees receive 16 days of PTO and 8 observed holidays. This position offers growth potential into a project manager role.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.69 - $37.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
