Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Production Maintenance Technician (PMT) to support the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial production equipment in a manufacturing environment. This hands-on role combines specialized machine operation with mechanical maintenance to keep production lines running safely, efficiently, and consistently.
The ideal candidate has experience with industrial machinery, mechanical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and equipment changeovers. Experience with presses, tooling, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated production equipment is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, and operate production machinery and equipment.
- Perform equipment changeovers, tooling changes, die adjustments, and cutting surface replacements.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to reduce equipment downtime.
- Inspect, align, calibrate, and adjust machine components, motors, sensors, and controls.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
- Monitor production equipment and respond to alarms, machine stoppages, and performance issues.
- Perform quality inspections and dimensional measurements using precision tools, including calipers and micrometers.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and quality documentation.
- Follow food safety procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and workplace safety requirements.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Safely handle materials using appropriate equipment, including forklifts, hoists, and pallet jacks, as authorized.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2–4 years of experience in high-speed manufacturing machinery maintenance and operation.
- Hands-on mechanical experience with presses, tooling, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Strong mechanical and electromechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Experience using precision measuring tools, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Basic computer skills for completing work orders and maintenance documentation.
- Commitment to workplace safety, product quality, and following established procedures.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Work in an industrial manufacturing environment with moving machinery, noise, and mechanical equipment.
- Stand and walk for much of the shift.
- Frequently bend, twist, reach, and climb ladders as needed.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed shoes, and other required protective items.
- Maintain strict cleanliness and sanitation standards in the production environment.
Schedule and Attendance
- Full-time, on-site position.
- Third shift.
- Must maintain reliable and consistent attendance.
- Flexibility may be required for extended hours, weekends, or schedule changes based on production needs.
