Manufacturing Engineer, Electrical Job Description This role focuses on driving electrical systems manufacturing excellence across multiple product lines for grid-scale battery storage. You will develop and optimize manufacturing processes, improve build and inspection methods for electrical assemblies, and leverage advanced automation tools to reduce time-to-market. The position offers a hands-on opportunity to influence product manufacturability, support the transition from R&D to high-volume production, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities
- Own the build and inspection processes for electrical assemblies and systems integration across all product lines.
- Develop, qualify, and refine manufacturing processes and detailed work instructions to meet safety, quality, efficiency, and delivery requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers, subject matter experts, and technicians to resolve internal and customer production challenges.
- Partner with the product engineering team to evaluate designs for manufacturability and implement improvements in a rapidly evolving production environment.
- Investigate and resolve product non-conformances and work with the quality team to implement robust root cause corrective actions.
- Identify, plan, and execute capital equipment purchases, machine upgrades, and layout changes to support growing production demand.
- Develop and refine floor layouts, capacity models, and product flow analyses to ensure on-time delivery of products.
- Create clear, accurate work instructions and procedures that support consistent, repeatable manufacturing outcomes.
- Contribute to building out the manufacturing engineering function by establishing best practices, standards, and documentation for electrical systems manufacturing.
- Engage directly with production operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to support integrated system builds and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, manufacturing, aerospace, materials, or industrial engineering.
- 5+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing or production environments.
- Demonstrated experience in manufacturing engineering and manufacturing production processes.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing process development and optimization.
- Experience with design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA) principles.
- Ability to develop and maintain clear work instructions and manufacturing documentation.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software for electrical component and tooling design and analysis.
- Knowledge of electrical component design and manufacturing considerations.
- Experience supporting the transition of complex products from R&D to high-volume manufacturing in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with the build, assembly, or integration of low and high voltage electrical assemblies.
- Knowledge of harness and electrical systems manufacturing techniques, including wire processing and preparation, termination, assembly and routing, and test verification.
- Hands-on experience with tooling design to support electrical systems manufacturing.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, production, supply chain, and operations teams.
- Comfort working in a rapidly evolving production environment with changing priorities and new product introductions.
- Interest in grid-scale battery storage and advanced energy technologies.
- Desire to help build and scale a growing manufacturing engineering organization.
Work Environment This position is 100% onsite in Torrance in a hands-on production and engineering environment. You will spend significant time on the manufacturing floor working directly with electrical systems, assemblies, and integrated products. The role involves close collaboration with production operations, engineering, supply chain, and quality teams as they work together to build integrated systems. The environment is fast-paced and growth-oriented, with ongoing investments in capital equipment, automation, and layout improvements to support increasing production demand.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $155000.00 - $180000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. we're committed to rewarding and supporting our team.
