Job Title: Engineering Support Technician Job Description
The Engineering Support Technician is responsible for performing maintenance services and repairs on assigned equipment. This role involves troubleshooting, inspecting, repairing, replacing, and maintaining mechanical systems and associated equipment including air compressors, air dryers, dehumidifiers, and cooling towers. The technician facilitates and accurately follows specific detailed operational instructions and prints for jobs and setup operations, administers the preventive maintenance system, and provides required reports. This position also involves determining preventive maintenance requirements for new equipment and educating and training equipment operators to perform routine maintenance. Maintaining a safe and effective work environment is crucial, along with supporting the Facilities Function as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance service and repairs on assigned equipment.
- Troubleshoot, inspect, repair, replace, and maintain mechanical systems and associated equipment.
- Facilitate and accurately follow specific detailed operational instructions and prints for jobs and setup operations.
- Administer the preventive maintenance system and provide required reports.
- Determine preventative maintenance requirements for new equipment and educate and train equipment operators.
- Maintain a safe and effective work area/environment and use appropriate personal protective and safety equipment.
- Support the Facilities Function as needed.
Essential Skills
- Experience in troubleshooting and maintenance as a technician.
- Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, electrical systems, and mechanical systems.
- 4+ years of experience working in a manufacturing engineering or manufacturing team for manufacturing equipment.
- Working knowledge of mechanical and electromechanical components and equipment.
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting documents, schematics, and blueprints.
- Ability to recognize and solve typical problems using established operating procedures and/or scientific methods.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with engineering for design and programming of machinery.
- Experience in troubleshooting and programming PLC machinery.
Work Environment
Work hours depend on the building: 5 am - 1:30 am or 8 am - 5 pm. You will work on machines that are down. The position reports to the ME Manager. The environment includes on-site facilities such as a cafeteria with a wide array of food options, a mini-mart, and vending machines. The company offers a 'Dress for Your Day' policy, providing flexible work attire options.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Simi Valley, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
