Road & Rail Services is seeking an experienced and motivated Human Resources Generalist to support our growing operations across multiple states. This position is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys problem-solving, working directly with employees and management, and navigating the challenges of a fast-paced operational environment.

Our company provides essential services to the railroad, automotive, and logistics industries. With employees working across multiple facilities and shifts, our Human Resources team plays an important role in maintaining compliance, supporting operations, and delivering a positive employee experience.

The successful candidate will bring a minimum of 2 years of professional Human Resources experience , strong organizational skills, and the ability to independently manage multiple HR priorities. We are especially interested in candidates with experience administering and managing ADP Workforce Now .

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources Operations & HRIS Administration

Maintain accurate employee records, personnel changes, and employment documentation within HR information systems.

Process and review new hires, terminations, job changes, transfers, and other employee updates.

Assist with HRIS reporting, employee data audits, and process improvements.

Partner with payroll to investigate and resolve employee information, compensation, and system discrepancies.

Help maintain consistency and accuracy across HR processes for multiple locations.

Employee Relations & Management Support

Serve as a knowledgeable HR resource for employees, supervisors, and operational leadership.

Address employee concerns, workplace complaints, attendance issues, and policy questions professionally and confidentially.

Support workplace investigations, disciplinary documentation, and corrective action procedures.

Advise management on consistent application of company policies and employment practices.

Promote positive employee relations and effective communication throughout the organization.

Compliance & Employment Practices

Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Maintain familiarity with FMLA, FLSA, ADA, EEO, and other applicable employment requirements.

Assist with Form I-9 compliance, E-Verify procedures, and employment record maintenance.

Maintain confidential personnel records and support HR audits.

Monitor changes in employment regulations and assist with implementing policy updates.

Onboarding, Benefits & Employee Support

Coordinate new-hire processing and onboarding activities with recruiters and operational managers.

Assist employees with benefits enrollment, eligibility questions, and general HR inquiries.

Work with payroll and benefits representatives to resolve employee concerns.

Support employee engagement, retention initiatives, and ongoing HR improvements.

Identify opportunities to streamline administrative processes and improve the employee experience.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of professional Human Resources experience.

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Working knowledge of HR practices, employee relations, and employment regulations.

Experience using HRIS systems to maintain employee information and process HR transactions.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally at all organizational levels.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Ability to work on-site and travel up to 25% when needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with ADP Workforce Now administration and management , including employee record maintenance, HR transactions, reporting, and system functionality.

SHRM-CP or PHR certification.

Previous HR experience supporting multiple locations or employees across multiple states.

Experience working with hourly employees in industrial, railroad, transportation, manufacturing, or logistics environments.

Familiarity with HR reporting, workforce analytics, and process improvement initiatives.

Experience supporting employee relations investigations and management coaching.
