At SHP, you'll provide meaningful, patient-centered care in a safe and secure correctional setting. You'll have the opportunity to use your clinical judgment, make a difference in an underserved population, and build relationships with a dedicated healthcare team.

🩺 What You'll Do
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a correctional healthcare setting.
- Perform nursing assessments, monitor patient conditions, and respond to changing healthcare needs.
- Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders and established protocols.
- Document patient care accurately and maintain complete medical records.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and team members to coordinate appropriate treatment.
- Assist with sick call, chronic disease management, and ongoing patient care needs.
- Recognize and respond to urgent medical situations while maintaining patient safety.
- Uphold professional nursing standards, patient confidentiality, and facility procedures.
Qualifications
✅ What We're Looking For
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or a license that meets applicable state requirements.
- Current CPR certification or the ability to obtain it as required.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and communication skills.
- Dependability and the ability to work independently in a structured healthcare environment.
- A compassionate, professional approach to caring for a diverse patient population.
- Correctional healthcare experience is welcome but not required!
