About this role
ASKA is developing a hybrid-electric drive-and-fly vehicle. The Chief Electric Motor Engineer leads electric propulsion motor engineering across electromagnetic design, mechanical integrity, thermal management and controls, and owns motor architecture, design decisions and motor-team delivery under CTO technical leadership.
The role translates aircraft duty cycles into performance, mass, thermal and reliability requirements; compares architecture efficiency, packaging, manufacturability and margins; resolves inverter, battery, cooling and aircraft interfaces; directs prototype development with analysis, dynamometer and endurance evidence; investigates test discrepancies and closes technical risks; mentors specialists; and improves repeatable motor validation, acceptance criteria and design-release evidence.
Full-time, on-site or hybrid at Eagle Field Airport, Firebaugh, CA; Bay Area/Palo Alto candidates preferred and relocation candidates welcome. Fully remote is not offered; some remote analysis/design/software work may be possible with client approval. Hands-on development and integration work with coordinated Eagle Field visits is required.
