About this role

ASKA is developing a hybrid-electric drive-and-fly vehicle. The Lead Battery Systems Engineer owns battery-system engineering, including pack architecture, cell selection, operating limits and battery-team delivery, working within the engineering organization under CTO technical leadership.

The role translates vehicle power and energy needs into battery requirements and margins; leads development and verification of cell/pack performance, life, mass, packaging and serviceability; defines charging, high-voltage, thermal and hybrid-control interfaces; coordinates cell characterization and pack hardware development; leads supplier readiness and design-risk reviews; and improves test measurement quality and verification evidence. It manages multidisciplinary design reviews with mechanical, thermal, electronics/BMS, charging, hybrid-power and test specialists.

Full-time, on-site or hybrid at Eagle Field Airport, Firebaugh, CA; Bay Area/Palo Alto candidates preferred and relocation candidates welcome. Fully remote is not offered; some remote analysis/design/software work may be possible with client approval. Hands-on development and integration work with coordinated Eagle Field visits is required.
