About this role
ASKA is developing a hybrid-electric drive-and-fly vehicle. The Lead Structural Stress Analysis Engineer leads aircraft structural stress analysis and substantiation and owns review quality and the airframe substantiation baseline, working in the engineering organization under CTO technical leadership.
The role prioritizes and reviews supporting stress work; builds Nastran/Patran models and verifies load paths, boundary conditions and material/joint assumptions; performs static strength, buckling and modal assessments; analyzes laminates, fittings, fasteners and bonded joints; plans tests and correlates stiffness, strain and modal response; assesses design/manufacturing deviations; and documents controlled stress reports. It interfaces with Loads, Airframe Design, Materials, Manufacturing, Test and Aircraft Systems.
Full-time, on-site or hybrid at Eagle Field Airport, Firebaugh, CA; Bay Area/Palo Alto candidates preferred and relocation candidates welcome. Fully remote is not offered; some remote analysis/design/software work may be possible with client approval. Hands-on development and integration work with coordinated Eagle Field visits is required.
