Southern Health Partners (SHP) is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team at the Marion County Detention Center in South Carolina.
With 8-hour day shifts every other weekend, this opportunity offers a predictable schedule and the chance to put your nursing skills to work caring for an underserved patient population.

🩺 What You'll Do
As a member of our correctional healthcare team, you'll help ensure patients receive professional, compassionate, and consistent medical care.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Conduct nursing assessments and monitor patients' health conditions.
- Administer medications and treatments within your scope of practice.
- Provide routine nursing care and respond to patients' healthcare needs.
- Recognize changes in patient conditions and communicate concerns to the appropriate healthcare provider.
- Assist with sick call, chronic care, and ongoing patient health management.
- Respond appropriately to urgent and emergent medical situations.
- Provide patient education and support as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and correctional staff to promote quality patient care.
- Follow established clinical guidelines, SHP policies, and applicable standards of practice.
Qualifications
📋 What We're Looking For
We're looking for a dependable, patient-focused nurse who brings experience, sound clinical judgment, and a commitment to quality care.
- Current South Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience required.
- Current CPR certification.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
- Effective communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with a healthcare team.
- Professionalism, dependability, and respect for patient confidentiality.
- Ability to work effectively in a structured correctional healthcare environment.
Correctional healthcare experience is welcome, but not required. If you have at least one year of nursing experience and are ready to explore a different healthcare setting, we encourage you to apply!
