Sales Manager – Building Materials
Locations: Houston, TX | Dallas, TX | Tampa, FL
Compensation: Base plus commission
We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to develop new business, manage customer relationships, and implement sales strategies within an assigned territory. This position will focus on increasing revenue and expanding market opportunities for cement and related building materials.
Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities with infrastructure contractors, ready-mix concrete producers, precast manufacturers, and distributors.
- Sell white and gray bulk cement, slag, fly ash, and related products.
- Conduct regular customer visits to maintain relationships and ensure service levels.
- Develop new customers for slag and supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs).
- Implement sales strategies to increase revenue and market share.
- Prepare sales activity, financial, and performance reports.
- Develop annual budgets and evaluate projected growth.
- Identify opportunities for additional revenue, upselling, and cross-selling.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
- Work with internal departments to support business objectives.
- Eventually develop and manage sales and customer service teams.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of outside sales experience.
- Proven sales experience in construction, cement, ready-mix concrete, or building materials.
- Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related discipline.
- Knowledge of the cement manufacturing industry and market.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Basic understanding of CRM systems
Willingness to travel regionally and nationally as needed.
Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
