About this role

Stitch Together Stories and Friendship!

Do you speak Arabic and enjoy meaningful conversations? We are looking for a warm and caring Arabic-speaking Social Volunteer to visit a lovely lady for one hour each week and share the gift of companionship.

This lady enjoys reading books and magazines, sewing, and watching Arabic television programs and church shows. She would love the opportunity to connect with someone who can chat with her in Arabic, share stories, discuss her interests, and enjoy friendly conversation.

Your weekly visits could involve talking about current events, favourite TV programs, family memories, hobbies, or simply spending quality time together. Through your companionship, you can help reduce social isolation and bring joy, connection, and something special to look forward to each week.

No special experience is needed, just a friendly nature, a listening ear, and a willingness to build a genuine friendship.

If you're ready to help weave meaningful conversations, shared culture, and companionship into someone's week, apply today. Your one hour could create a friendship that lasts far beyond the conversation!

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy to the client you are matched with.
