About this role
Join the Aethos Community – Hospitality with Purpose.
At Aethos, we believe in extraordinary places, passionate people, and meaningful connections. Hospitality should inspire and elevate — leaving a lasting impact on mind, body, and soul. That is why we carefully choose our locations and build teams looking for more than just a job — teams that thrive in a true community.
Aethos focuses on sustainability, well-being, and the luxury of time and space. We create retreats from the everyday, offering a sanctuary from the stress of modern life. Our goal? To redefine hospitality — building a place where both guests, members, and team members feel at home, inspired, and connected.

Role Description
- Community Outreach: Support outreach before and after the June 2027 opening of Aethos Lisbon, engaging with the city’s social scene to help identify and attract the founding membership and keep the community growing.
- Lifecycle Management: Manage the day-to-day membership lifecycle, from first enquiry and application through to onboarding, renewal, and long-term loyalty.
- Application & Tours: Run the application process, hosting property tours and introductory meetings, and assessing candidates in line with the guidelines set by the Membership Director.
- Targets & Pipeline: Work towards agreed targets for new members, keeping the pipeline up to date and reporting progress to the Membership Director.
- Brand Representation: Represent Aethos in Lisbon’s social scene, attending events, launches, and gatherings to build contacts and introduce new people to the community.
- Member Introductions: Carry out new member introductions, ensuring members understand the benefits, house rules, and opportunities, and know how to reach you.
- Member Relations: Build personal relationships with members, getting to know them and their interests so each feels known and valued.
- Engagement & Retention: Monitor member engagement and renewals, flag early signs of disengagement, and step in or escalate when a member’s experience falls short.
- Insight & Feedback: Gather feedback on events, service levels, and facilities, and share it with the Membership Director and the wider team so it turns into improvements.
- Database & CRM: Keep the membership database accurate and up to date, tracking applications, renewals, and member activity.
- Event Integration: Support the events team with guest lists for major on-site and off-site events, ensuring members and VIPs receive the right access and a warm welcome.
- Content Collaboration: Share member stories and content with the marketing team, so they can be brought to life across our channels.
- Cross-Department Teamwork: Work closely with the events, marketing, operations, and hospitality teams to deliver a consistently high-quality experience for members and guests.
- Floor Presence: Maintain a visible presence in the property as a welcoming face for members.
Candidate Profile
- Experience: Proven background in membership coordination/management, high-touch guest relations, or front-of-house VIP services within private members' clubs, luxury lifestyle hospitality, or cultural venues.
- Interpersonal Skills: Warm, discreet, and organised, with natural conversational ease and the ability to build meaningful, personal relationships.
- Operational Strengths: Strong organisational skills with experience managing membership databases, tracking CRM pipelines, and handling event guest list logistics.
- Network & Alignment: Active interest in and familiarity with Lisbon’s social, cultural, and creative scenes, alongside genuine alignment with Aethos’ focus on well-being and mindful community.
- Languages: Professional fluency in both English and Portuguese is essential; additional languages are an advantage.
