A&P Mechanic with Inspection Authorization (A&P/IA)

Pay: $45–$55 per hour, depending on experience
Location: On-site in Terrell, TX (primary shop at Terrell Municipal Airport) and Mineola, TX (second shop, about an hour east)
Schedule: Shift hours will be confirmed on your first call with the recruiter. You work at one shop per day, sometimes splitting the day between the two. Now and then you're flown between shops by the company's flight school (about 20 minutes).

About the opportunity
Our client, an established aircraft maintenance and helicopter service center with shops in Terrell and Mineola, Texas, needs an experienced A&P mechanic with a current Inspection Authorization to step into its IA role. This is a replacement hire for the current IA, who is moving on, so the team is moving quickly.

You'll be the inspection authority for a hands-on crew of three A&P mechanics, one avionics technician and three apprentices. You'll sign off annual inspections, catch what others miss, and keep work going to the right people across both shops. Helicopter experience, especially Robinson, will help you hit the ground running.

What you'll do
- Perform and sign off annual inspections, making sure every aircraft meets airworthiness and safety standards
- Review aircraft and identify discrepancies, including items missed by other mechanics, and see them through to correction
- Assign and oversee work so every task goes to a qualified mechanic or apprentice
- Keep the team efficient and organized, and help guide newer technicians
- Do hands-on maintenance alongside the crew
- Split your time between the Terrell and Mineola shops based on the workload

What you need
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate with a current Inspection Authorization (IA)
- Senior-level aircraft maintenance experience, including signing off annual inspections
- Experience directing or assigning work to other A&Ps, avionics technicians or apprentices
- Ability to work on-site at both Terrell and Mineola, TX

Nice to have
- Helicopter maintenance experience (strongly preferred)
- Robinson training or experience (ideal)
- Enstrom experience (a plus, not a deal breaker)
