About this role
OBJECTIVE
To ensure all finished linen products from the laundry dispatched to the various areas of the Club meet our standard at all times.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education and Experience:
- High school graduate or its equivalent.
- Experience in a hotel or related field.
- Must have knowledge of all products/chemicals used in the Linen/Laundry Area.
Mental requirements:
- Must be a willing team player able to work well independently when required.
- Well organized and willing to assist at any time.
- Understands and implements the established standards and policies if the Club.
- Respectful, considerate and well-mannered to all Members of Staff, Lyford Cay Members and Guests.
- Compliance with the Lyford Cay Club Employee handbook at all times.
Physical requirements:
- May occasionally lift heavy objects.
- Hours vary according to season and occupancy levels of the Club.
- Working days vary according to the business demands of the department.
DUTIES and FUNCTIONS
Essential:
- To inspect the linen for cleanliness and overall condition before it passes through the ironer.
- To sort linen after pressing.
- To assist with the washing and drying linen when needed.
- To assist with the folding of towels or any other duties in the department upon the instruction of the Linen/Laundry Room Manager.
- To collect linens from Housekeeping, Restaurants, Kitchen and Pool areas.
- To off load linens to bins at the Laundry.
- To deliver Restaurant, Housekeeping and Swimming Pool linens and towels on time.
- To secure the van at the end of the shift.
- To check the ironer each morning to ensure that it is working.
- To make sure the area and surroundings are left tidy and clean after turning ironer off each evening.
Marginal:
- To perform all other duties as requested by the Linen/Laundry Manager.
- Attend meetings/training as required by management.
