About this role

Job Description

As a Food Server, you are responsible for providing friendly, attentive, and efficient service to restaurant guests. You will take and accurately communicate food and beverage orders, deliver orders in a timely manner, and help ensure a positive dining experience for every guest.

Job Requirements

- Provide fast, friendly, professional, and responsive service to restaurant guests, fellow team members, and the culinary production team.

- Greet and welcome each guest seated within the assigned station with a friendly demeanor, eye contact, and a smile.

- Take the initial beverage order within three minutes of guests being seated.

- Maintain thorough knowledge of all menu items, including food and beverage offerings, ingredients, and available options.

- Accurately take and enter food and beverage orders while ensuring all special requests and modifications are properly communicated.

- Maintain clear and effective communication with kitchen and culinary staff to ensure orders are prepared and delivered accurately and efficiently.

- Monitor assigned tables and respond promptly to guest requests, questions, and additional needs.

- Deliver food and beverages in a timely and professional manner while following established service standards.

- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of assigned tables and service stations.

- Follow all applicable food safety, sanitation, and service standards.

- Maintain a positive, courteous, and professional demeanor when interacting with guests, team members, and vendors.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

- Must be at least 21 years of age.

- High School Diploma and/or GED preferred.

- Previous food service or serving experience preferred.

- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.

Additional Requirements

- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

- Basic knowledge of food allergies and the ability to communicate guest allergy concerns accurately and promptly.

- Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, high-volume, and potentially stressful environment while maintaining a professional demeanor.

- Must maintain a clean, neat, and well-groomed appearance in accordance with company standards.

- Must be flexible and available to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with overtime as needed.

- Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to secondhand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.
