Project Manager

Job Title: Project Manager Job Description The Project Manager oversees complex technical projects from initiation through completion, ensuring that project scope, schedule, cost, and customer expectations are consistently met. This role maintains bills of materials (BOMs), manages supplier relationships, and administers product lifecycle management (PLM) systems while coordinating efforts across engineering, manufacturing, renewable energy, and other technical disciplines. Acting as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers, the Project Manager drives alignment on objectives, deliverables, timelines, and budgets, proactively identifies and mitigates risks, and maintains strong customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities

- Lead projects from initiation through completion, ensuring successful delivery across a variety of products, programs, and business initiatives.
- Maintain and update bills of materials (BOMs) to support accurate planning, procurement, and execution of projects.
- Manage supplier relationships, coordinating with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services that meet project requirements.
- Administer and maintain product lifecycle management (PLM) systems to ensure accurate documentation, change control, and project data integrity.
- Develop, manage, and track project schedules, resources, budgets, and scope to ensure projects are delivered on time and within agreed parameters.
- Serve as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers to ensure alignment on project objectives, deliverables, timelines, and costs.
- Proactively identify project risks, issues, and conflicts, and drive effective mitigation strategies and resolutions.
- Manage customer expectations, including external customers, through regular communication, status updates, and issue resolution.
- Oversee change orders and contract-related activities, ensuring that changes in scope, cost, or schedule are properly documented and approved.
- Coordinate field operations as needed to support project execution, especially for construction or energy-related projects.
- Balance customer requirements with business objectives, ensuring that project decisions support both quality delivery and organizational goals.
- Prepare and deliver clear, concise presentations and reports using Excel and PowerPoint to communicate project status, metrics, and outcomes.
- Conduct project kick-off meetings, including traveling to customer or site locations several times per year to establish alignment and expectations.
- Maintain strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership practices to keep projects on track and stakeholders informed.
- Foster and maintain long-term customer relationships by providing responsive, professional project management throughout the project lifecycle.

Essential Skills

- Minimum of 3 years of project management experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience managing technical projects in areas such as product development, construction, oil and gas, solar, or energy-related industries.
- Proven ability to manage project cost, scope, schedule, and contracts across multiple concurrent projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing customers, preferably external, including handling complex expectations and requirements.
- Strong conflict management skills with the ability to resolve issues between stakeholders, suppliers, and customers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, tracking, and reporting.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint for preparing and delivering project presentations.
- Ability to travel approximately 2 to 5 times per year for project kick-off meetings and site visits.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Experience in the commercial solar industry is highly desirable.
- Experience in renewable energy, solar trackers, or energy storage projects is a strong plus.
- Experience working in engineering, manufacturing, or other technical environments.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities in cross-functional project teams.
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems and change order processes.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment with evolving priorities.
- Interest in contributing to the renewable energy sector and supporting large-scale solar and energy initiatives.

Work Environment This position is primarily onsite four days per week, Monday through Thursday, providing regular in-person collaboration with cross-functional teams. The role involves occasional travel, approximately 3 to 5 times per year, to various customer or project sites for kick-off meetings and alignment sessions, with most travel concentrated on the West Coast to align project managers with customers in similar time zones. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fremont, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $62.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
