The Office of the Commissioner of the Revenue is seeking a Business Systems Analyst II - Analytics to advance organizational effectiveness through data-driven insights and technology enablement. This position designs, develops, and governs a comprehensive reporting and analytics framework that supports operational oversight, compliance, customer service, and strategic decision-making across tax administration functions.
Working closely with executive leadership, business units, technology partners, and external stakeholders, the position translates complex business needs into actionable analytics and technology solutions. The role establishes standardized reporting, develops interactive dashboards and external data feeds, promotes data quality and integrity, and supports continuous improvement and automation initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Decision Support Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field; and
- Some experience in a technology-related position involving business systems, reporting, analytics, application support, or a closely related area.
Substitution: Additional qualifying experience may substitute for the education requirement on a year for year basis.
Desirables: Preference will be given to applicants with experience with one or more of the following:
- Data extraction, validation, cleansing, and quality-control practices;
- Gathering and documenting business and technical requirements;
- Supporting or enhancing highly customized enterprise applications;
- Coordinating technical issues with internal technology teams or vendors; and/or
- Supporting tax administration, local government, finance, compliance, or another regulated operational environment.
Special Requirements
Background Check: A pre-hire background check will be made on all candidates selected for employment. Additional Information
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with flexibility and telework options pending supervisor approval.
