About this role

Job Title: Designer / Drafter Job Description This position involves performing design, drafting, and other duties related to the preparation of new or existing drawings for manufacturing or other purposes. The role is responsible for managing design/drafting projects and providing design solutions for development projects and product change requests. Responsibilities

- Manage design/drafting projects from concept to completion.
- Provide design solutions for design/development projects and product change requests.
- Prepare product documentation, checking dimensions of parts, materials to be used, and the relation of one part to another and to the whole structure. Drawings include system/component models, installation/layout/weldment/assembly drawings, piece part drawings, and isometric drawings.
- Utilize red-lined drawings, engineering change requests, and any instructions to prepare revised drawings incorporating dimensional changes or pertinent data.
- Apply knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
- Use computer-assisted drawings (2D/3D CAD) equipment and software.
- Interact with engineering and manufacturing personnel to solve problems during the manufacturing process and document corrective actions.
- Participate in design reviews to determine the feasibility of proposed designs and offer suggestions for product improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

- 2-5 years of CAD experience, primarily in 3D modeling.
- Experience as an individual contributor owning projects, products, and designs.
- Understanding of common materials used in sheet metal enclosures.
- Familiarity with common mechanical assembly processes (hardware, fasteners, riveting, welding, etc.).
- Experience with PLM, PDM, HVAC manufacturing, DFM, ERP, MRP, and SAP.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Preferred: Experience with design in manufacturing and design of sheet metal in manufacturing.
- Preferred: ERP/MRP experience (Bills of materials, material management, routers).
- Exceptional: Experience in design work in refrigeration with manufacturing.
- Exceptional: Experience with PLM (product lifecycle management) and PDM (product data management).

Work Environment The work environment primarily consists of an office setting, with occasional work in manufacturing areas to gather data or research problems. This environment may expose the employee to higher noise levels and lower air quality. Documentation tasks may require exposure to outdoor environments and those commonly encountered in air-conditioning equipment installations. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $82000.00 - $90000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
