book here for more info! Job Description This role offers an experienced mechanical engineer the opportunity to lead mechanical design projects within a collaborative, people-focused firm. You will design and document MEP systems, perform engineering calculations, ensure compliance with applicable codes, and work closely with architects, owners, and project consultants. Responsibilities

- Serve as the lead mechanical engineer on assigned projects and take ownership of mechanical design deliverables from concept through completion.
- Develop, draft, and coordinate detailed mechanical and MEP design documentation using both Revit and AutoCAD.
- Perform mechanical load calculations, including heating and cooling loads, to support accurate equipment sizing and system selection.
- Conduct ventilation calculations to ensure indoor air quality and compliance with relevant mechanical codes.
- Perform energy compliance analysis using tools such as ComCheck and Title 24 to verify that designs meet applicable energy codes and standards.
- Conduct full MEPF (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire) site surveys and prepare clear, comprehensive survey reports.
- Review and respond to submittals, shop drawings, and Requests for Information (RFIs) to ensure conformance with design intent and project specifications.
- Apply and interpret relevant codes such as IMC, IECC, and ASHRAE 90.1 in the design and review of mechanical systems.
- Read, interpret, and implement mechanical design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Communicate directly with project stakeholders, including architects, owners, and other consultants, to coordinate design solutions and resolve technical issues.
- Support and mentor team members by sharing technical knowledge and contributing to a collaborative project environment.
- Pursue continuous professional growth with ambitions for career advancement and leadership within the mechanical engineering discipline.

Essential Skills

- Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
- 37 years of experience as a mechanical designer or mechanical engineer in building systems.
- Hands-on experience with MEP design and application of relevant codes such as IMC, IECC, and ASHRAE 90.1.
- Ability to read, interpret, and implement mechanical design documentation, including drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in Revit for mechanical and MEP modeling and documentation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for mechanical and MEP drafting and coordination.
- Experience performing mechanical load calculations and ventilation calculations for equipment sizing and system design.
- Experience performing energy compliance analysis using tools such as ComCheck and Title 24.
- Experience reviewing submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs for conformance with design requirements.
- Experience conducting MEPF site surveys and preparing technical reports.
- Experience communicating directly with project stakeholders, including architects, owners, and other project consultants.
- Strong interest and ambition for career advancement, including future leadership responsibilities in mechanical engineering.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- EIT certification, PE licensure, or active progress toward obtaining professional engineering licensure.
- Experience with HVAC design and mechanical engineering for building systems.
- Familiarity with energy codes and standards such as ASHRAE 90.1.
- Strong coordination skills for working within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Ability to work independently as a lead engineer while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder interaction.

Work Environment The role is based in a professional office setting in New York, NY, with a hybrid work model that typically combines 23 days working from home and 23 days working in the office each week. The team uses Revit and AutoCAD as primary design and documentation tools, along with energy compliance tools such as ComCheck and Title 24. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
