Looking for a flexible healthcare opportunity where you can pick up shifts while making a meaningful difference?

Southern Health Partners is seeking a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our healthcare team at the Madison County Detention Center in Alabama.

As a PRN team member, youll have the flexibility to provide coverage based on your availability while helping ensure patients receive consistent, quality care. Our online scheduling exchange allows you to view available shifts and communicate your availability in advance so our team can plan coverage and find shifts that fit your schedule.

PRN team members are asked to provide at least four available dates each month for scheduling consideration. Where possible, holiday availability should also be provided in advance so holidays can be incorporated into the PRN rotation.

What Youll Do

Depending on your credentials and scope of practice, you may:

- Assist with patient care and routine clinical needs

- Obtain and document vital signs

- Assist with medication administration within your authorized scope

- Support nurses and medical providers with patient care

- Respond to patient needs and communicate changes in condition

- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

- Follow established healthcare, safety, and security procedures

- Help maintain a professional and respectful healthcare environment

Youll work as part of a dedicated correctional healthcare team providing care to an underserved population in a safe and secure setting .

๐Ÿ’š PRN Scheduling & Coverage Expectations

PRN scheduling is based on facility needs and available shifts , with established Full-Time and Part-Time schedules receiving priority.

For this position, PRN team members should be available to provide coverage on either day or night shifts , depending on facility needs.

Day Shift: 5:45 AM to 6:30 PM
Night Shift: 5:45 PM to 6:30 AM

PRN team members are expected to:

- Provide reliable coverage for accepted and scheduled shifts

- Provide at least four available dates each month for scheduling consideration

- Provide holiday availability in advance when possible

- Be willing to provide coverage on days, nights, weekends, and holidays based on facility needs

- Understand that availability requirements may vary based on facility staffing and coverage needs

- Periodically provide night-shift coverage as part of the facility's 24-hour healthcare coverage

Qualifications

What Were Looking For

- Current certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Medication Aide (CMA) , as applicable

- Current CPR certification

- Ability to work within your credentialed scope of practice

- Strong communication and organizational skills

- Dependable attendance and commitment to scheduled shifts

- Ability to provide at least four available dates each month

- Willingness to provide holiday availability in advance when possible

- Flexibility to work day or night shifts, including weekends and holidays , based on facility needs

- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a healthcare team

- Comfortable working in a structured, safe, and secure correctional environment

- Correctional healthcare experience is a plus, but not required
