Southern Health Partners is launching a new correctional healthcare program at Worth County Jail , and we're looking for a qualified Medical Director / Physician Extender to provide clinical oversight and support as we build the healthcare program from the ground up.

This is an excellent opportunity for a physician or advanced practice provider looking for a flexible, low-hour commitment while making a meaningful impact in correctional healthcare.

The role requires up to 2 hours per week , allowing you to bring your clinical expertise to an underserved population without taking on a traditional full-time commitment.

๐Ÿ‘ฉโš•๏ธ What You'll Do

As the Medical Director / Physician Extender, you'll provide clinical support and oversight for the SHP healthcare team at Worth County Jail.

Responsibilities may include:

- Providing clinical consultation and medical oversight

- Collaborating with the onsite healthcare team regarding patient care

- Reviewing patient cases and assisting with clinical decision-making

- Supporting appropriate evaluation, treatment, and continuity of care

- Providing guidance related to clinical protocols and patient management

- Collaborating with SHP leadership and healthcare staff

- Supporting quality and compliance within the correctional healthcare program

- Helping establish strong clinical processes as part of the new site launch

Qualifications

๐Ÿ“‹ Qualifications

Candidates must hold one of the following:

- Medical Doctor (MD)

- Nurse Practitioner (NP)

- Physician Assistant (PA)

Additional qualifications include:

- Current and unrestricted professional license applicable to the state of Georgia

- Current DEA registration, as applicable to scope of practice

- Current CPR certification, as applicable

- Clinical experience appropriate to the role

- Strong communication, assessment, and clinical decision-making skills

- Ability to collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team

- Ability to provide clinical oversight within a secure correctional environment
