Tanami is one of Australia's most remote and significant underground gold mines, located deep in the Tanami Desert of the Northern Territory. Your Impact

As a  Maintenance Controller , you'll play a critical role in maximising the availability, reliability and performance of Tanami's mobile, fixed plant and site infrastructure assets. Working closely with Mine Control, Maintenance and Operational teams, you'll coordinate maintenance activities, monitor equipment health and ensure timely decision-making to support safe and efficient mining outcomes

As part of our team, you will

- Coordinate and prioritise scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities for mobile equipment, fixed plant and critical site infrastructure to optimise equipment availability and plan compliance.
- Monitor live equipment health and operational data through MineStar, SMARTS, Citect and related systems to identify issues and support proactive maintenance decisions.
- Manage maintenance notifications, work orders, downtime event recording, machine statistics and reporting within SAP and operational systems
- Collaborate with Mine Control, Maintenance, Planning, Reliability and Operations teams to align maintenance priorities with production requirements and schedule commitments.
- Investigate maintenance delays, support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain accurate maintenance and asset performance data to drive operational efficiency

Prerequisites for your success in this role

- Mechanical trade qualification or extensive experience in heavy mobile equipment, fixed plant maintenance or a related mining environment.
- Demonstrated experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, maintenance control or work management processes within mining or heavy industry.
- Strong knowledge of SAP and maintenance management systems, with the ability to manage work orders, reporting and equipment maintenance records.
- Experience using fleet management and monitoring systems such as MineStar, SMARTS, Citect or similar operational platforms.
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, supported by strong computer literacy and a current C Class Driver's Licence

Your Work Environment

This permanent position is offered on an  8days on 6days off roster rotation and is based at Newmont's Tanami operation in the Northern Territory.

As a fly-in, fly-out operation, Tanami provides modern camp accommodation and facilities while on site. You'll work alongside multidisciplinary teams supporting one of Australia's premier underground gold mining operations.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to a safety-focused culture that values teamwork, innovation and continuous improvement in a technically challenging and unique operating environment.

Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent , you will operate from the Mine Control Room and work closely with Mine Controllers, Maintenance Supervisors, Reliability, Planning, Mining Operations, Communications teams and OEM support partners to coordinate maintenance activities and optimise fleet and infrastructure performance across site
