Job Title: Regulatory Compliance Specialist Job Description
This role involves preparing global Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical labels, supporting employees and customers on regulatory and hazard communications. You will work under experienced leadership to ensure compliance with chemical regulations and hazard communication standards.
Responsibilities
- Author, manage, and maintain global Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and labels for both industrial and consumer products.
- Work with suppliers to obtain and manage regulatory information for raw materials.
- Provide guidance on prospective classifications for research and development efforts.
- Assist customers with regulatory-related inquiries.
- Prepare regulatory documentation submissions for global compliance and registration projects, such as TSCA and REACH.
- Support REACH-related activities.
- Stay updated on laws and regulations pertaining to chemical regulation and hazard communication (e.g., CHS, REACH, ROHS, Prop 65, OSHA, CLP, DOT/IMDG/IATA).
- Ensure compliance with laboratory standards and maintain relevant certifications.
- Create, update, and maintain Safety Data Sheets under established procedures.
- Gather necessary formulation, raw material, hazard, and physical property information to prepare SDSs.
- Maintain SDS revision records and document control.
- Identify when changes in formulations, raw materials, or regulations require SDS updates.
- Respond to routine internal and customer requests for SDSs.
- Develop and maintain chemical product labels using established company requirements.
- Ensure hazard communication information is included on labels, updating them as necessary.
- Work with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Marketing to obtain accurate product information.
- Develop working knowledge of chemical regulatory requirements applicable to the company's products and raw materials.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Science (Chemistry, Environmental, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or similar technical field).
- 0-2 years of experience, open to strong new graduates with chemistry understanding and undergraduate research experience.
- Knowledge of chemistry, SDS authoring, and chemical regulatory compliance.
- Understanding of OSHA hazard communication standards, TSCA, GHS, REACH, CLP, WHMIS, Prop 65.

- Ability to troubleshoot and work independently.
Work Environment
This position is 100% on-site, Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM. You will be reporting directly to the Lab Director in a dynamic and collaborative laboratory environment.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Paul, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
