Analytical/Quality Lab Specialist - 2nd Shift Job Description We are seeking dedicated Analytical/Quality Lab Specialists to join our team. This role involves working initially on the 1st shift for approximately three months, transitioning thereafter to either the 2nd shift (Monday-Friday, 3 pm- 11:30 pm). The position involves laboratory testing on industrial chemicals and raw materials for fertilizers and food-grade product lines. Responsibilities

- Conduct lab work including specific gravity, titrations, and pH testing.
- Act as the receipt of raw materials by reviewing shipping documentation and Certificates of Analysis (COA), verifying against internal specifications.
- Test raw materials as required by QA/QC and release for use by Production, including Specific Gravity, pH, Wet Chemistry assays, and trace materials using AA or HPLC.
- Issue and review batch records for manufacturing and packaging.
- Issue labels and seals as controlled documents, store label stock securely, and print and review labels with the Production Supervisor.
- Maintain a log for issued seals and upload lab results to the database, creating CofAs.
- Review and test finished bulk products to ensure quality standards, conducting tests before product mixes are transferred to storage tanks or packaging containers.
- Engage in in-process and finished goods testing, including packaging inspection and visual inspection of finished goods.

Essential Skills

- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline or equivalent experience.
- At least 6 months of experience with titrations and pH testing, gained from academic or industry lab settings.
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., SQF, FAMI-Q5, IPEC).
- Proficiency in testing methodology, with the ability to analyze and interpret results.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, time management, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all disciplines and levels within the facility and corporate.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Experience with ICP and quality control processes.
- Familiarity with lab techniques such as pipetting and wet chemistry.
- Understanding of batch records and COA processes.

Work Environment The laboratory works with industrial chemicals for fertilizer, food-grade applications, and industrial products. The area outside the lab is a production environment, where candidates will interact with production personnel, including operators and forklift drivers, often communicating via walkies. The Quality Team consists of three technicians, with staggered shifts ensuring one to two technicians are present in the lab at any given time. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
