MetroCorps Private Limited is a newly established project management company in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, delivering engineering design, procurement and project controls for design-build projects of US clients across Africa, the GCC and Europe. Every project is designed through conceptual, developmental, pre-final and final stages with licensed US Professional Engineers, and taken from the first page of the RFP to handover. Our programme includes modular and containerised living units, substation renovation, medium-voltage switchgear, UPS and generator systems, wastewater treatment plants and building renovation. The role

We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer with genuine ownership of the power and electrical design scope on our international design-build projects. You will develop the electrical basis of design, run the power-system studies, design the switchgear, generation and substation works, and carry the design through client review with licensed Professional Engineers in the United States.

What you will do

- Produce electrical power-system and power-distribution design that answers the project RFP and the approved basis of design.

- Develop and maintain the electrical basis of design, design criteria and technical specifications for power generation, distribution, lighting and low-current scopes.

- Design and specify LV/MV switchgear, motor control centres, protection schemes and relay coordination for distribution and substation applications.

- Design standby and prime power generation, including generator sizing, paralleling, synchronising and changeover schemes.

- Engineer substation works: transformer sizing, switchyard layouts, earthing grids and utility interface requirements.

- Define SCADA, telemetry and power-monitoring architectures, and their integration with building and plant control systems.

- Prepare load calculations, cable sizing, voltage-drop, short-circuit, arc-flash and earthing studies, single-line diagrams and panel and cable schedules; size UPS and battery systems.

- Answer client design-review comments line by line, review supplier technical offers and electrical submittals, and coordinate with the civil and mechanical disciplines.

What we are looking for

- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering; M.Tech an advantage.

- 8–12 years of electrical power-system design experience with a reputed EPC/GC, PMC or design consultancy, including switchgear, generation and substation projects.

- Proven capability in load and fault-current calculations, protection and relay coordination, single-line diagram development and specification writing.

- ETAP (or SKM / DIgSILENT PowerFactory), AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP and Dialux/Relux, with strong Excel calculation discipline.

- Exposure to SCADA, telemetry and power-monitoring systems and their protocols (Modbus, IEC 61850 or similar).

- Sound knowledge of NEC/IEC, NFPA and IEEE design standards.

- Excellent written English, accuracy, and the ability to work to design-programme dates across time zones.
