About this role
Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment used in API production as per approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Assist in the execution of batch manufacturing activities according to the Batch Manufacturing Record (BMR).
Handle process operations such as charging, mixing, heating, cooling, reaction monitoring, filtration, drying, and material transfer, as applicable to the assigned process.
Monitor process parameters, including temperature, pressure, pH, agitation speed, flow rate, and reaction time.
Ensure correct identification and handling of raw materials, intermediates, solvents, and finished products.
Coordinate with production officers and shift in-charges to ensure smooth manufacturing operations.
Report abnormal process conditions, equipment malfunction, leakage, or deviations immediately to the supervisor.
Maintain production targets while following approved quality and safety procedures.
B. Equipment operation and maintenance support
Operate and monitor equipment such as:
Glass-lined reactors and stainless-steel reactors
Centrifuges and filtration systems
Vacuum tray dryers and rotary vacuum dryers
Agitated Nutsche filters/dryers (ANFDs)
Heat exchangers, condensers, and cooling systems
Pumps, pipelines, valves, and transfer systems
Scrubbers and solvent recovery systems
Perform pre-start checks to confirm that equipment is clean, properly assembled, and ready for use.
Inspect equipment for abnormal noise, vibration, temperature, leakage, and pressure fluctuations.
Coordinate with the maintenance department for preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs.
Verify equipment status labels and ensure that only approved equipment is used for production.
Assist in equipment cleaning, assembly, dismantling, and changeover activities as authorized.
Follow equipment isolation and lockout/tagout procedures wherever applicable.
C. Process monitoring and troubleshooting
Monitor critical process parameters throughout the manufacturing batch.
Verify that process temperatures, pressures, vacuum levels, agitation speeds, and reaction times remain within approved limits.
Assist in identifying process abnormalities, such as incomplete reactions, poor filtration, slow drying, unusual pressure changes, or equipment inefficiencies.
Inform the shift in-charge about process deviations and follow instructions for corrective action.
Support troubleshooting activities under the guidance of authorized production or engineering personnel.
Ensure that no process adjustments are made without the required authorization.
Assist in maintaining process consistency and reducing avoidable production downtime.
