Painter

To carry out painting, surface preparation, repainting, and protective coating activities for plant buildings, structural steel, pipelines, equipment exteriors, railings, and other designated surfaces in the API manufacturing facility, ensuring good workmanship, corrosion protection, housekeeping, and compliance with cGMP and EHS requirements.

2. Roles and responsibilities
A. Painting and surface preparation
Carry out painting work on plant structures, walls, floors, doors, railings, platforms, ladders, and designated equipment surfaces.

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, scraping, sanding, wire brushing, and removing loose paint, rust, grease, and dirt.

Apply suitable primers, undercoats, and finishing coats according to approved specifications.

Perform touch-up painting and repainting of damaged or deteriorated surfaces.

Ensure proper surface preparation, paint mixing, application, coverage, and drying time.

Use brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and other approved painting tools.

Identify surface defects and report areas requiring repair before painting.

Maintain a uniform finish and avoid runs, sagging, peeling, and uneven coating.

Follow the manufacturer's instructions for paint preparation, application, curing, and recoating intervals.

B. Industrial painting and corrosion protection
Carry out protective painting of structural steel, supports, platforms, handrails, and other metal structures.

Assist with anti-corrosion coating work on designated equipment exteriors and utility structures.

Apply approved protective coatings to external pipeline surfaces where specified.

Identify rust, coating damage, and corrosion and report findings to the supervisor.

Ensure the correct primer and paint system is used for the intended service environment.

Follow approved coating specifications and inspection requirements.

Avoid painting product-contact surfaces, instrument labels, nameplates, electrical contacts, or other restricted areas unless specifically authorized.

C. Building and facility maintenance
Perform painting and repainting of walls, ceilings, doors, window frames, and other facility surfaces.

Repair minor surface imperfections and prepare surfaces before painting.

Assist with painting of maintenance workshops, utility buildings, warehouses, and designated common areas.

Maintain painted surfaces in good condition and report major cracks, dampness, peeling, or water seepage.

Support scheduled facility-maintenance and refurbishment activities.
