We are seeking a detail-oriented Industrial Painter  to join our client's manufacturing team. In this role, you will prepare surfaces and apply industrial wet coatings to fabricated metal cabinets, frames, and components for custom dust collection units. You will operate under the day-to-day guidance of the Production Manager to ensure all finishes meet rigorous industrial standards and durability requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Coating Application: Apply industrial wet-spray coatings to complete cabinets, structural enclosures, and individual parts for dust collection systems; perform small-parts painting and precision touch-ups.

Surface Preparation: Degrease, clean, and prep raw and fabricated metal surfaces; strip old coatings via masking, mechanical abrasion, or chemical rinse; polish metallic and stainless steel surfaces.

Quality & Measurement: Utilize viscosity cups and wet/dry film thickness gauges to monitor paint consistency, coat thickness, and finish texture.

Technical Finishing: Apply specialized coating techniques based on surface substrate, including industrial textured finishes.

Equipment Care & Waste Handling: Clean, flush, and maintain spray guns, pressure pots, pumps, and ventilation systems; ensure safe disposal of chemical waste and hazardous solvents in compliance with environmental standards.

Production Coordination: Inspect coated parts for coverage and defect-free finishes before releasing them to the Assembly Department; maintain accurate tracking on job travelers.

Safety & PPE: Strictly follow safety protocols, including wearing required respirators, paint hoods, goggles, and full protective equipment.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: 2–5 years of industrial wet-spray painting and coating experience recommended.

Technical Skills:

Demonstrated proficiency in industrial air-spray / wet-spray equipment and application techniques.

Experience working with industrial solvents, thinners, primers, and multi-part coatings across diverse metal surfaces.

Familiarity with paint measuring tools (viscosity cups, mil thickness gauges).

Equipment Operation: Experience operating shop machinery and tools (hand power tools, measuring tape, forklift operation is a plus).

Color & Visual Acuity: Strong visual ability to inspect finish quality, distinguish color shades, assess texture consistency, and identify surface defects.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Physical Effort: Moderate to heavy physical activity including standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, balancing, climbing, and lifting/carrying equipment or parts.

Environmental Adaptability: Comfort working in an active industrial manufacturing shop environment with exposure to temperature variations, noise, airborne dust, paint odors, and solvents while using appropriate ventilation and PPE.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $21.00 - $21.00
