Our client in Staten Island, NY, is looking for a Maintenance Associate for a temp-to-hire role. Hours: Sun & Mon off, Tues 8am-4pm, Weds 1pm-7pm, Thurs 1pm-8pm, Fri 8am-7pm, Sat 11am-7pm Pay is $17.50/hr
Position Description:
This role is responsible for comprehensive facility upkeep, routine janitorial care, groundskeeping, and storage facility security:
Janitorial & Deep Floor Care: Performs daily routine cleaning (sweeping, mopping, window washing, trash removal, and restroom sanitation/restocking) and heavy-duty floor maintenance (buffing, stripping, and waxing).
Facility Maintenance & Inspections: Conducts basic building upkeep, including replacing HVAC filters, changing light bulbs, clearing roof drains, painting restrooms and bollards, monitoring for leaks, and assisting with incidental repairs.
Groundskeeping & Seasonal Care: Maintains outdoor property by clearing yard debris, treating and removing weeds, and performing snow and ice removal.
Security & Storage Operations: Inspects unit locks for proper security, cuts locks when required, cleans exterior unit doors and walls, and conducts closing walkthroughs to ensure all customers have vacated and exits are locked.
Inventory & Record-Keeping: Logs completed maintenance tasks, tracks and restocks maintenance supplies, and reports major repair needs to management.
Requirements: Ideally 2 years’ custodial or self-storage experience Basic understanding of the English language, sufficient to read and identify labels on materials or read and comprehend simple instructions
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $17.50 - $17.50 Per Hour
