Job Description
As a Host/Hostess, you are responsible for creating a welcoming first impression for restaurant guests. You will greet and assist guests, manage seating and reservations, communicate guest needs to the restaurant team, and help maintain an organized and welcoming dining environment. You may also assist the Grill and restaurant team with additional duties as needed.
Job Requirements
- Provide fast, friendly, professional, and responsive customer service to restaurant guests and team members.
- Greet and welcome each guest entering the restaurant with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Establish a positive rapport with guests and escort them to their assigned tables.
- Provide guests with menus and accommodate seating preferences, including tables or booths when available.
- Maintain an appropriate and balanced seating rotation among all service stations.
- Monitor guest needs and communicate important information to restaurant staff and management, including celebrations, birthdays, anniversaries, special requests, and other guest preferences.
- Promptly communicate guest complaints, concerns, compliments, or other feedback to management.
- Thank guests for visiting and invite them to return upon completion of their dining experience.
- Answer incoming telephone calls professionally and assist with reservations as needed.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all food and beverage menu items to assist guests with general questions.
- Maintain effective communication with servers, culinary staff, and management to support an efficient flow of service.
- Assist the Grill and restaurant team with additional duties as needed.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of assigned areas and stations.
- Maintain a positive, courteous, and professional demeanor when interacting with guests, fellow team members, management, and vendors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma and/or GED preferred.
- Previous customer service or restaurant experience preferred.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.

- Ability to remain calm, professional, and courteous in a fast-paced, high-volume, and potentially stressful environment.
- Ability to communicate and interact professionally with guests, fellow team members, management, and other departments.
- Must maintain a clean, neat, and well-groomed appearance in accordance with company standards.
- Must be flexible and available to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with overtime as needed.
- Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to secondhand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while performing essential job duties.
