Job Title: Senior Architectural Project Manager Industrial Job Description
The Senior Architectural Project Manager leads complex industrial architecture projects from initial concept through construction completion. This role oversees project scope, schedule, budget, and quality while managing multidisciplinary design teams and serving as the primary point of contact for industrial clients. Typical projects include manufacturing plants, warehouses, distribution centers, logistics hubs, and other large-scale industrial developments. You will have significant project ownership, extensive client exposure, and the opportunity to help shape the growth of a dynamic industrial practice.
Responsibilities
- Lead industrial architecture projects through all phases, including planning, conceptual and detailed design, permitting, construction documents, and construction administration.
- Manage project scope, budget, schedule, risk, and overall profitability to ensure successful delivery and client satisfaction.
- Serve as the primary client contact throughout the project lifecycle, building strong relationships and maintaining clear, consistent communication.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and vendors to deliver integrated project solutions.
- Oversee QA/QC reviews for drawings and specifications, ensuring compliance with applicable building codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Direct the preparation and management of contracts, consultant agreements, change orders, and all related project documentation.
- Support proposal development, including project approach, fee estimates, and schedules, and contribute to business development efforts for industrial projects.
- Mentor and guide junior staff, providing project leadership, technical oversight, and opportunities for professional growth.
- Collaborate with structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines to coordinate building systems and industrial equipment requirements.
- Participate in occasional site visits to review construction progress, address field conditions, and support construction administration activities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of project delivery processes, standards, and tools within the industrial practice.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 7 years of project management experience within architecture, engineering, or design firms.
- Demonstrated experience managing industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution facility projects from design through construction.
- Strong knowledge of project budgeting, scheduling, contract administration, and client management.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams through all phases of design and construction.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit for industrial and architectural design and documentation.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam for document review, markups, and coordination.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office for communication, reporting, and project documentation.
- Solid understanding of building codes and their application to industrial facilities.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills with clients and internal teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Professional Architecture or Engineering license preferred.
- Experience with warehouses, logistics centers, e-commerce facilities, or manufacturing plants.
- Knowledge of material handling systems, cranes, lifts, and production equipment coordination within industrial buildings.
- Experience with tilt-up construction and pre-engineered building systems preferred.
- Working knowledge of structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical building systems and their integration in industrial facilities.
- Experience with Deltek Vision or Deltek Vantagepoint for project accounting and resource management is a plus.
- Background in plant engineering, construction documentation, specification writing, and design development for industrial projects.
- Experience with QA/QC processes and construction administration for large-scale industrial developments.
- Interest in contributing to and growing an industrial practice, including involvement in strategy and process improvement.
- Ability to provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to project teams in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment
This position operates within a collaborative architecture and engineering environment focused on industrial and manufacturing clients. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint to deliver coordinated design and construction solutions. The role combines office-based project management, design coordination, and documentation with occasional site visits to manufacturing plants, warehouses, and distribution centers. You will oversee multiple projects concurrently through all phases of delivery, balancing client interaction, team leadership, and technical oversight in a professional, growth-oriented setting.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Seattle, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $150000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. 401(K) plan with company match
