About this role
# Position Summary
PrideStaff is recruiting a Shipping & Receiving Specialist for a precision manufacturing company supporting aerospace, defense, medical device, and industrial customers. This person will be responsible for the accurate movement and documentation of incoming materials and outgoing products. Because the company operates in a quality-controlled manufacturing environment, parts, materials, quantities, paperwork, labeling, and destinations must be correct and traceable.
# Key Responsibilities
Receive incoming materials, components, tooling, supplies, and other shipments. Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, quantities, part numbers, and other documentation. Identify shortages, damage, discrepancies, or incorrect shipments and communicate issues promptly. Route received materials to the appropriate inventory, inspection, production, or administrative location. Prepare finished products and other materials for shipment. Package products appropriately to prevent damage during transportation. Verify part numbers, quantities, shipping instructions, labels, and required documentation before shipment. Create or process shipping labels and carrier documentation. Coordinate shipments with parcel and freight carriers. Maintain accurate electronic and physical shipping/receiving records. Support inventory transactions and material movement. Maintain organized receiving, staging, and shipping areas. Communicate with purchasing, production, quality, and other departments regarding material status. Follow applicable quality procedures for handling, identification, traceability, and documentation. Assist with cycle counts, inventory organization, and material-control activities as assigned. Safely move materials using appropriate material-handling equipment.
# Qualifications
Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, inventory, material-control, or manufacturing experience. Ability to accurately match physical materials to purchase orders, packing slips, labels, and system records. Strong attention to detail. Basic computer and data-entry skills. Ability to maintain organized records and work areas. Dependable attendance and follow-through. Ability to communicate discrepancies rather than allowing incorrect material to continue through the process. Ability to safely lift and move materials appropriate to the position.
# Preferred Experience
Shipping/receiving experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with UPS, FedEx, freight carriers, or comparable shipping systems. ERP, MRP, inventory-management, or warehouse-management system experience. Experience with purchase orders and inventory transactions. AS9100, ISO 9001, aerospace, defense, medical device, or other controlled-manufacturing experience. Forklift or material-handling equipment experience.
# Who Will Do Well in This Role
The strongest candidate understands that accuracy matters as much as speed. They check the part number, quantity, documentation, condition, destination, and system transaction rather than assuming someone else will catch an error later.
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $19.00 - $22.00
