About the Opportunity
PrideStaff has partnered with a premier global manufacturer of engine bearings and automotive components. Trusted by engine builders and distributors across the United States, the client is currently expanding its US brand presence beyond standard bearings into complementary engine components, as well as identifying new application opportunities across their product range.
We are seeking an experienced Product Manager – Engine Parts to lead this strategic expansion.
Role Overview
This role is designed to bring new products to market by identifying target engine component categories, selecting suppliers, and executing product launches across the client's established US distributor network and e-commerce channels.
The engagement begins with a key project phase focused on business plan development and market analysis, progressing into ongoing ownership of the expanded line end-to-end based on initial milestone results.
Key Responsibilities
Phase 1: Market Analysis & Strategic Planning
Analyze the US engine-parts aftermarket to determine high-priority components to add to the existing product portfolio.
Identify new vehicle/engine applications to expand catalog coverage and brand presence.
Identify, vet, and compare suppliers based on quality, cost, minimum order quantities (MOQs), and lead times.
Build accurate landed-cost, pricing, and gross margin models.
Develop sales forecasts for both US distributor networks and direct e-commerce channels.
Present a complete go-to-market plan covering product selections, strategic supplier choices, required investments, and expected revenue goals.
Phase 2: Product Line Ownership & Execution
Take full end-to-end ownership of the expanded engine-parts category, including global sourcing, purchasing, packaging, GTM launches, and ongoing product lifecycle management.
Position Qualifications & Requirements
Must-Have Qualifications:
US Aftermarket Experience: Proven track record in the US engine-parts aftermarket industry.
Product Sourcing & Management: Direct experience in product management or purchasing for an aftermarket parts brand that sources products from manufacturers and sells them under its own brand.
Supplier Negotiation: Hands-on experience identifying, selecting, and negotiating prices and commercial terms with domestic or international suppliers.
Business Acumen: Strong skills in market analysis, pricing, margin evaluation, and sales forecasting.
Catalog Expansion: Proven ability to identify new engine applications and systematically expand catalog coverage.
Location: Must live and work in the United States.
Preferred / Advantageous Skills:
Pre-existing relationships with global or domestic engine-parts suppliers.
Demonstrated success selling through automotive warehouse distributors (WDs) and e-commerce channels.
Specific background managing internal engine components rather than general automotive accessories.
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $95,000.00 - $105,000.00 Per Year
