The Project: Accountable for the planning function on allocated projects/tenders, ensuring that they are effectively planned, scheduled, and monitored. Supports the Project Management function in the delivery of the project/tender, as required, ensuring they are delivered on time and profitably. Responsible for the planning of medium to high-complexity projects, a portfolio of projects, or sections of larger projects.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading integrated portfolio planning activities across workplace, retail, corporate real estate, facilities management and capital project programmes.
- Developing and maintaining strategic portfolio planning frameworks that align operational, real estate, facilities and investment priorities.
- Facilitating demand management, portfolio prioritisation and resource optimisation activities across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Acting as the primary interface between Real Estate, Facilities Management, Operations, Procurement, Project Delivery and senior leadership teams.
- Leading portfolio integration initiatives to consolidate business demand, facilities requirements, capital investment plans and resource forecasts into a single coordinated portfolio view.
- Identifying portfolio-level risks, dependencies, capacity constraints and optimisation opportunities, and driving timely resolution.
- Supporting annual business planning, capital investment planning and portfolio review cycles.
- Providing executive-level portfolio insights, forecasting, scenario analysis and strategic recommendations.
- Influencing stakeholders and decision-makers to achieve consensus on priorities, investment decisions and delivery approaches.
- Leading and developing a team of planning and portfolio professionals, ensuring continuous professional growth and high performance.
- Driving continuous improvement in portfolio planning, forecasting, reporting and stakeholder engagement processes.
- Undertaking tasks required to fulfil the requirements of the project, programme or portfolio assignment.
- Working collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and sharing responsibility for the proactive identification and management of carbon emissions and reduction opportunities during the delivery of work.
You’ll need to have:
- Ideally degree educated, preferably in Construction, Engineering, Real Estate, Facilities Management, Business Management or an equivalent discipline.
- Significant experience leading integrated portfolio planning, programme integration or enterprise planning functions within retail, workplace, corporate real estate, facilities management or multi-site operational environments.
- Strong understanding of portfolio planning, demand management, capacity planning, resource optimisation and investment prioritisation.
- Experience working across corporate real estate, workplace, retail, banking, hospitality, facilities management or similar asset-intensive environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and facilitate decision-making across complex organisations.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of operational and investment drivers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated leadership, people management and talent development skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and operate effectively within complex business environments.
- Other relevant qualifications specific to local requirements where applicable.
