The project:
This opportunity forms part of one of the most significant hyperscale data centre developments in the Asia Pacific region, delivering a multi-gigawatt, mission-critical campus in Queensland, Australia. With a projected construction programme spanning more than six years, the project offers the rare opportunity to contribute to a landmark development through multiple phases of design, delivery and operational readiness.
Working alongside a world-class client and an exceptional Mace team, you will help deliver infrastructure of the highest quality within a heavily regulated environment. This role will suit professionals who have experience on large-scale, complex projects and who consistently demonstrate the highest levels of integrity, professionalism and technical excellence.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Lead cost planning and present robust cost strategies that support successful data centre delivery.
- Manage procurement activities, from tendering and commercial evaluation through to contract award.
- Deliver cost management services that drive performance, value, and strategic project outcomes.
- Ensure commercial controls align with governance, compliance, and business objectives.
- Champion sustainable delivery, supporting net zero ambitions and carbon reduction initiatives.
- Lead, mentor and develop project teams, fostering collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
You’ll need to have:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying/Cost Management with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience.
- Proven cost consultancy experience and relevant sector expertise within a critical infrastructure environment.
- Strong cost planning, estimating, budgeting, risk management and change control capabilities.
- Knowledge of contract administration, contract management and various forms of construction contracts.
- Proficient in BIM, digital tools, value engineering and lifecycle costing principles.
- Effective stakeholder management, negotiation, analytical problem-solving and sustainability-focused decision making.
