Mechanical Engineer Department: Engineering Reports To: Engineering Manager Location: Gilbert, AZ  Position Summary Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer  to support the design, development, integration, testing, and sustainment of advanced aerospace and defense systems. The successful candidate will contribute to complex engineering programs supporting U.S. Government and Department of Defense (DoD) customers while ensuring compliance with military, industry, and customer specifications. This position requires an engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment, demonstrates technical excellence, and is passionate about developing innovative solutions for mission-critical systems. Essential Responsibilities

- Design, develop, analyze, and document mechanical systems, subsystems, and components for aerospace and defense applications.
- Provides engineering design and technical guidance for multiple, complex mechanical equipment and system projects in parallel and perform stress analysis for equipment/structures and design and evaluate products for conformance to industry standards
- Must be able to provide conceptual design input for new products/equipment and provide design review/input for project drawing/documents/testing
- Have a working knowledge of Solid Works and FEA software
- Design, develop, and verify through test and analysis various Mechanical and Electronic sub-assemblies and assemblies to maintain or improve existing products
- Evaluate field performance and product failures and recommend, evaluate, and implement product improvements
- Accurately document designs through the creation and maintenance of design requirement specifications, product drawings, component drawings, material specifications and bills of material in accordance with ISO requirements
- Oversee the design or develop engineering drawings and documentation including plans and specifications based on calculations; checks, interprets and revises engineering drawings and documentation
- Participate in requirements analysis, system design reviews, and technical interchange meetings.
- Develop engineering test procedures, validation plans, and verification documentation.
- Conduct laboratory testing, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and failure investigations.
- Support prototype builds, qualification testing, and production transition activities.
- Collaborate with Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Program Management teams.
- Ensure engineering designs comply with customer specifications, military standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare technical reports, engineering analyses, design documentation, and presentations.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
- 3+ years of mechanical engineering experience in aerospace, defense, military, or related industries.
- Experience designing mechanical/structural hardware and systems.
- Proficiency with mechanical CAD software such as: SolidWorks Mechanical
- SolidWorks Simulation
- SolidWorks PDM

- Knowledge of mechanical mechanisms, load-bearing structures, and fastening methods
- Experience with mechanical testing equipment including: Environmental Test Chambers
- Tensile/compression test equipment
- Torque Wrenches

- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs.
- Knowledge of military standards including: MIL-STD-461
- MIL-STD-810
- MIL-STD-704
- IPC Standards

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $65.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
