About this role
Role Objective:
The
Airport Services Supervisor oversees and coordinates the activities of Airport
Services agents and appointed Ground Handler to ensure consistent delivery of
high-quality service to Salamair passengers in respect of check-in, boarding,
special services, ramp operations and baggage services. Ensuring the consistent
application of the company’s commercial and safety standards and procedures,
the ASVR provides support, leadership and coaching to the front-line staff
engaged in ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of all passengers.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Organize
allocation of agents to check-in, Departures/Transfer, Ramp or Arrivals on a
rotating basis and provide briefings on a shift by shift basis;
- Set
up check-in area and ensure correct allocation of desks, manpower and other
resources, monitoring activities of OV and Ground Handling Agents (GHA);
- Monitor
passenger flow and queue times providing assistance and adjusting desk
allocation as required, including liaison with immigration, Security and
authority’s terminal management;
- Ensure
proper enforcement of flight opening/closure times, baggage policies, Credit
Checks and documentation requirements;
- Provide
assistance and information to passengers and stakeholders as necessary;
- Liaise
with OCC and GHA and organize staff to ensure timely commencement and close out
of boarding process;
- Assist
passenger progress through security, immigration and transfer areas and assist
with baggage and flight connections;
- Ensure
safe passenger embarkation and disembarkation processes and monitor turn-round
handling and baggage handling activities within company/regulatory safety and
security guidelines;
- Assist
passenger arrivals and baggage reclaim process and offer any assistance as
necessary;
- Liaise
with all stakeholders and assist passengers in case of delays or disruption;
- Monitor,
investigate and report any irregularities and identify & implement
solutions;
- Coach
and mentor junior staff appropriately – leading by example.
- Responsible
for identifying safety risks to support safety objectives and maintaining
security standards in accordance with the guidelines outlined in current
version of AOSP Chapter 3.4 and 14.13.
- Any
other duties that may be assigned by the line manager.
Requirements
- The Airport
Services Supervisor should have the good knowledge of aviation related of
Ground Services functions and Operations.
- Educational
Qualifications & Experience –
A Diploma/Graduate
in any discipline from any recognized University or minimum 03 years’
experience in Ground Services related functions.
- Established team player and
team builder with proficiency in written, verbal communication skill with basic
computer knowledge.
