About this role

Career Land Center is hiring an experienced Pastry Sous Chef for an F&B company in Kuwait .

We are looking for a skilled and hands-on pastry professional who can support daily pastry and bakery operations, maintain consistent product quality, supervise the pastry team, and assist with production planning across assigned outlets. The Pastry Sous Chef will play an important role in supporting the Executive Pastry Chef, ensuring smooth operations, and maintaining high pastry standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the Executive Pastry Chef in managing daily pastry and bakery operations.

- Supervise the preparation and production of pastries, cakes, desserts, breads, chocolates, and other bakery items.

- Ensure all pastry and bakery products are prepared and presented according to company standards.

- Maintain consistency in taste, quality, portioning, decoration, and presentation.

- Assist with production planning, mise en place, stock rotation, and service readiness.

- Support bulk production requirements for events, displays, catering, and high-volume operations.

- Guide, train, and supervise junior pastry and bakery team members.

- Monitor food cost, wastage, inventory, storage, and portion control.

- Ensure strict hygiene, food safety, cleanliness, and HACCP standards at all times.

- Assist with menu execution, seasonal items, special requests, and new product development.

- Coordinate with culinary, service, purchasing, stewarding, and management teams to ensure smooth operations.

- Step in to lead pastry operations in the absence of the Executive Pastry Chef.

- Support continuous improvement in pastry quality, efficiency, and team productivity.

Requirements

- Previous experience as a Pastry Sous Chef, Junior Pastry Sous Chef, Senior Pastry Chef, or similar role.

- Strong experience in restaurants, hospitality groups, hotels, luxury cafs, bakeries, or high-volume F&B operations.

- Solid knowledge of pastry, bakery, desserts, cakes, chocolates, plated desserts, and production planning.

- Experience in bulk production and multi-outlet pastry support is an advantage.

- Strong team supervision, communication, and training skills.

- Good understanding of food cost control, inventory management, portion control, and wastage reduction.

- Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen compliance standards.

- Creative, organized, detail-oriented, and quality-focused.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment and handle pressure professionally.

- Professional attitude with strong problem-solving skills.

- International hospitality or multi-outlet experience is an advantage.

- Willingness to relocate to Kuwait.
